Full Bore Christmas Laughs - Entertainment - Humor

It is the Saturday after Black Friday. I wonder why they call it that; is it named after the old song from Steely Dan? I'm really dating myself now, but nothing makes you feel dated like sitting around having dinner and drinks with a bunch of adults whose diapers you used to change. My nieces and nephews are mostly grown, mostly with children of their own, surreal somehow. My wife and I came back to my hometown for Thanksgiving to hang with my family. My family is crazy, but they are cool, good people. They are the only family I have, and they show me love that you could never buy. After the requisite eat-a-thon, we hung out for a few hours, and retired to the hotel. I set the clocks for 3:30 AM, but somehow neither one rang. My wife still could feel the time in her bones, and woke up about 3:35 in a heated rush! She had plans to get to Wal-Mart by 4:00, so we could join the herd looking for the best price on big A flat screen TV's. The people around us formed a loose al liance and we worked out a plan to come out of the skirmish with a TV for each group. When the announcer called out the start to the melee, we flew into action like a well-oiled military drill team. Everybody fulfilled their role to the tee, and I dragged off my flat screen to a more secure area, like a bear at the salmon stream with no plans on giving up that fish. We hung out with the family for another day, but now it's about time to get back home. My professor who is oddly personable, and merciless, has given the class a final test, and research report, both due the freaking Monday after Thanksgiving! So I've got to get home and work like an educated slave to get these things taken care of. Now the radio stations are cranking out the Christmas music, trees are being decorated, and every third commercial is selling some kind of holiday merchandise. I want to join the holiday parade, by offering free holiday smiles. To do that I am directing anyone who needs a break from t he artificial pressures put on us by this go-go society to a funny Christmas-themed video I made to give people a minute long laugh break. It is called Santa's Sleigh, and is based on an actual conversation I had with a young student who had his own take on Rudolph and the other reindeer.
