Phil Mickelson Dropped behind McDowell - Sports - Golf

Phil Mickelson is an American professional golfer; he has a lifetime exemption on the PGA Tour, for being a tour member for over 15 years and having 20 plus tour victories. He has reached a career high world ranking of 2nd in multiple years.

Mickelson who may like the Callaway X-24 HOT Irons is one of the best golfers in the world, isn't he? But, for the World rankings as of February 20th, Lee Westwood remains the number one, with the top three of he, Martin Kaymer and Tiger Woods unchanged. Mickelson is ranked the golf world No.5, and he has dropped behind Graeme McDowell.

Mickelson was not too worried at the slight drop in rankings though. "I feel better about my game right now than I ever have with one exception; I would like to win," Mickelson was quoted as saying by ESPN. Now, some golf reporters said that it's becoming something of a troubling trend for Phil Mickelson. I don't think so. I think that Phil Mickelson finds reason to hope.

In this post, I would like to talk about the news about Phil Mickelson. If you want to know much more golf information or golf news, you may read this funny article - Rory McIlroy Is New Generation of Golf in my blog.

Phil Mickelson who is the Two-time tournament winner is not used to starting the final round on the 10th tee, far from the lead and television coverage. When Mickelson finished, though, he was smiling a bit. He shot 3-under 68, his best round of the tournament, and finished at 1 under overall.

In the 35th place, Mickelson finished second at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and tied for ninth at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, will head to the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, which begins Wednesday at Dove Mountain near Tucson, with a little momentum.

Mickelson, who hasn't won since last year's Masters, has the second-best scoring average (69.21) on tour this season, though his third rounds have been a problem. "I feel better about my game right now than I ever have with one exception: I would like to win," Mickelson said. "There's something to be said about winning a tournament, getting some confidence, being in contention on Sunday and coming out on top."
